I was Born in 1998 and I felt that the early 2000’s , Mid 2000’s and close to late 2000’s era felt like late ‘90’s era! Does it count as an ‘90’s kid? I had Saturday morning cartoons, played parachute games in school gym, had book fair with not only books but also toys there were selling, I usually get the motorcycle ones where you put the motorcycle diecast models together! Even though rotary phones were not there when I was growing up but saw my mom’s side grandparents use them for a little while! Just needed to rotate each digit until you got all the phone numbers numbered, but un 2000’s ear before pre- 2010 we had land line without any wire attached to it but I assumed the ‘90’s era had land even it was wired, I felt there were more cool things I witnessed even the block buster and toys r us, I usually buy the die-cast model cars, and in early to mid 2000’s era my teacher did used chalk, then white board then later in 2010’s era it was a projector! and yeah I feel like at least the late ‘90’s and the 2000’s era were kind of similar, there were still some boxy cars, telephone-booth, and other stuffs from the 1990’s era did exist in the ‘00’s era! I lived in 2 centuries, 1998- 1999 (20th century) and 2000- present(2020’s era) (21st century)! , and etc…..!

I would switch off on the Reggie bar and Snickers, great pick me up and the original protein bars. Also, when I worked at Sears in the 70's who could forget their peanut clusters and fresh popcorn. I would buy a bag each of that stuff and lose my beloved mind! Also was so burnt out on my co- workers saying; " that's what she said" every chance they got.

My twin brother and I totally missed out on the ‘70s cereals. Our older siblings told us the stories of those old cereals. Though they missed out on the ‘60s cereals, where our much older cousins bragged about that. One of them has his old decoder ring prize from one cereal. Another one has a miniature model car kit.

I remember TG&Y fondly❤ Newberry’s was another fun discount store in my town.😢 I miss shopping in person. The 99 cent stores just closed and I am very bummed. I could buy the flavored tea for less than a quarter market and would often buy 20 at a time. It was always good for seasonal decor. I took my daughter to the mall our area and it is beyond depressing. Malls used to be so great and now they are just ghost towns.

One store I have fond childhood memories of are the old Rexall Drug stores. As I recall, they had a surprising variety of different items & merchandise, at fairly good prices, and just generally had a nice, relaxed, friendly atmosphere to the place. Plus, it was were some of my earliest comic-book purchases were made there. So I look back fondly upon them overall. I also remember a store in my area called Gemco. I don't know if they were a nationwide chain or not (or if they were, how large they were.) I just remember you had to have a membership card to get in, which you had to flash upon entry, otherwise they wouldn't let you in. After that however, they had a pretty good selection of items, all at very good prices. It was kind of a general medium-sized department-store essentially. We also had a store called White Front, and they had a _huge_ selection of items, everything from books & records to kitchenware to carpets, drapes, automotive. Man, you name it. That was the store were my parents did a lot of their shopping, and while they were doing that I'd be in (where else?) the toy department, after which I'd wander to the books & music dept. and just kind of generally migrate & drift around without getting lost. (In hindsight, it was a more innocent time I guess.)

The 80s for the best times! Yes we played in the streets until night until our parents came and got us to go to bed. We read books we played outside we ate outside we lived outside basically. All the kids in the 80s looked up now all the kids are looking down on the screen all day long they don't have an idea what anything looks like out there all they know is how to push a button on a screen that's it. At that time we had a lot of fun I really miss those times. I do love my laptop in my phone but do not let technology takeover my life. I really wish we could go back to those times they were good times. Life was simple but beautiful!!!😢 The 80s were the best times of my life!!

Ben Franklin was my go to store to buy my model kits when I was a kid. That store had the best selection of Revell and Monogram kits, especially Nascar kits which was all I built. Other stores I miss is Hills dept store, Phar-Mor, Mega-Mart. Western Auto sponsored my favorite Nascar driver for several years and they were the only parts store I would go to because they supported my driver. And he had one of the best looking cars on the track with that paint scheme

I was born in ‘85 .. I remember in middle school I had a pen pal in Vietnam. They sold cassette singles at the local quick mart. When I was growing up, my mom had a ‘70 Coronet and my godmother had a ‘77 Trans Am Firebird.
